Frontiers launches a new open-access medical journal: Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

Swiss open-access publisher Frontiers is pleased to announce the launch of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, a new open-access medical journal. Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine will publish peer-reviewed articles on the diagnosis, treatment, and pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease that help to advance medical education and to improve clinical practice and patient care. Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine will provide unrestricted and global online access to all articles, published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license. The Frontiers Interactive Peer Review will enable authors, reviewers and editors to directly and collaboratively engage in a Review Forum, ensuring a rigorous and objective review, and fast publication. Reviewer names are disclosed on articles to enhance transparency. Frontiers advanced article impact metrics track the reach and impact of articles, and the community can engage in post-publication review. Looking for Statistical Editors for Frontiers medical journals

The Frontiers Statistical Editors oversee and ensure validity of statistical methods and analyses of data that are part of research articles submitted to any of the Frontiers medical journals for publication. Articles submitted to a Frontiers medical journal in which concerns about data validity are raised by reviewers or editors will undergo a statistical evaluation by a member of the board. He or she will report on the manuscript containing an assessment of the validity of data, flaws and errors in study design, statistical methods, and analyses will be forwarded to the Handling Editor. Frontiers journals indexed in the 2013 Journal Citation Reports by Thomson Reuters

Frontiers has reached a number of important milestones over the past year, including 45,000 academics on the editorial boards, over 20,000 published articles and 100,000 authors worldwide. This week, the 2013 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) confirm, once again, Frontiers’ leading position as a high-quality, open-access publisher with a strong performance across the “Frontiers in” journal series. Frontiers forms publishing agreement with the University of Regensburg

We are delighted to inform you that the University of Regensburg holds a central invoicing agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible articles by the University of Regensburg authors will benefit from a discount on article processing charges (APCs) for articles. The University of Regensburg will within its financial means cover parts of the APCs for articles by corresponding authors affiliated with the University in any of the Frontiers journals, provided that the requirements are met. Frontiers and University College London continue open-access agreement

Frontiers is pleased to announce the continuation of its open-access publishing agreement with University College London (UCL). Swiss open-access publisher and research network, Frontiers is pleased to announce the continuation of its open-access publishing agreement with University College London (UCL). Since September last year, almost 100 authors affiliated with UCL have benefited from this publishing agreement, which enables researchers to publish their work in the “Frontiers in” journal series, with UCL covering the article publishing fees. “Results from publicly funded research should be accessible to everyone. That is why UCL is pleased to team up with Frontiers and other high-quality open-access publishers to enable our scientists to make their research freely available. Frontiers forms publishing agreement with Göttingen University

We are delighted to inform you that Göttingen University holds a central invoicing agreement with Frontiers. Göttingen University (partially) covers Article Publishing Charges (APCs), for corresponding authors affiliated with the University, for articles in any of the Frontiers journals via an Open Access Publication Fund. Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) is the administrator of this Fund. For further details and whether you qualify for support from the Fund, please visit the Library’s webpages on Open Access and the Open Access Publication Fund (Publikationsfonds) or contact Ms Sabine Witt witt@sub.uni-goettingen.de. Frontiers forms publishing agreement with University College London

We are delighted to inform you that University College London is in a pre-payment agreement with Frontiers UCL is able to cover open access fees for authors publishing in Frontiers journals, provided that certain eligibility criteria are met. Eligible papers include: Research articles and uninvited review articles acknowledging UCL-held UKRI (UK Research Councils) or Wellcome Trust funding. Unfunded original research articles and uninvited review articles with a UCL-affiliated corresponding author. The corresponding author must be a full member of staff or research student at UCL. Information for authors: To submit your article under this institutional agreement, please select ‘University College London’ as institutional payer in the invoice section when submitting your article. Frontiers will then verify your eligibility with the UCL Open Access Team, and if confirmed to be eligible according to the eligibility criteria, the APC will be paid by UCL upon acceptance.
